AutoAid Is a pay and claim type policy. It costs £37 per year.
It covers you and your spouse/partner and any vehicle that you own.

If you should breakdown you call the service who then arrange help in the form of breakdown assistance or recovery. You pay for the service and then claim back from Autoaid, who reimburse you in approximately 10 days.

We have a policy with Autoaid but cannot report on how well the policy works, as we have not had cause to use them. However, it is recommended by moneysavingexpert.com and users on the forum there say they have had no problems with either the breakdown assistance or recovering costs.

You may find it most cost effective to include breakdown cover in your motorcycle insurance policy.
Bikesure (who we recommend for insurance) will include breakdown cover for extra on your premium.

Carole Nash include it with their policies.

If you shop at Tesco and you have a clubcard then you can collect points and get an RAC breakdown policy in exchange for vouchers or a substantially reduced rate.

A less well know breakdown service that you might want to consider:

GEM Motorcycle Assist – they offer varying levels of breakdown cover from breakdown assistance to recovery extra.

Their website says they were voted number one for roadside assistance by Auto Express.
